Our mission is to teach skills that aren't taught in schools: we nurture children's curiosity, foster collaboration, and cultivate their problem-solving abilities.
We're creating a community where kids can develop into compassionate and productive global citizens.
Having been an educator who did virtual preschool and worked in emergent curriculum contexts, I found it familiar and delightful.
Effective collaboration requires courage, empathy, and negotiation
Kids need to know how to step up and step back, and when to do each. At CoLab, students embark on a journey that prepares them for a future where collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking are the keys to success.
At CoLab your child will explore custom-built challenges every week with their cohort. Our curriculum creates situations where students will:
🤝
Learn how to work in small, dynamic teams
🚀
Identify, break down, and tackle complex problems
💬
Communicate, reflect, and make decisions
💡
Embrace failure, adapt, and try again
Ethics Island
Conflict Resolution
Empathy and Perspectives
Embark on a thrilling tale of survival as survivors of a plane crash on Ethics Island.
You are members of an Island Council that must discuss how to distribute washed-up resources fairly while navigating unique island challenges.
Be ready for discussion, debates and collaborative decision-making.
Galactic Gear Masters
Teamwork Dynamics
Risk Assessment
Embark on an intergalactic quest as the gearmaster ground crew, navigating a model spaceship to identify the necessary tools the team will need to repair malfunctions caused by an unexpected debris field.
Riddle Racers
Clarity and Timing
Role Assignment and Adaptability
Step forth into the Riddlemaster's Locked Labyrinth of Riddles! Divided among three paths, your team must work together to escape.
Each room hides pieces to solve a riddle, but beware: only by uniting in the Huddle Hallways and merging your findings will you break the codes that seal the doors.
Countdown Challenge
Reflection and Iteration
Time Management
Can you work together to beat the clock?
Your team will have to assign a time to complete the 5 challenges, then complete them before the clock hits zero.
Can you find Waldo, solve puzzles, and create new stories in 5…4…3…2…1?
Learning by Doing
We believe the best way to learn is by doing. At CoLab, it's okay to make mistakes because we know that's where real growth happens.
Students reflect on their experiences, building a strong foundation of problem-solving and critical thinking skills that they'll need throughout their lives.
Expert Facilitators
Our expert facilitators guide, ask questions, and empower students to take control of their own learning journey.
They encourage students to apply prior knowledge and experience across a variety of challenges.
Student Agency
At CoLab, we value your child's unique voice and perspective. They'll have the space to challenge the process, ask questions, and collaborate with peers, embracing our ABCs:
A
B
C
Adventure Adaptively
Life is full of surprises, an adventure that favors the flexible. How you respond to uncertainty is up to you.
What can you learn from your failures that prepare you for the next challenge?
I love getting detailed and specific feedback about the growth my daughter is making: outlining her strengths with specific examples, and areas for growth. My daughter absolutely LOVES CoLab and looks forward to working with her peers and teachers every week!

"I was blown away by the brilliance of the facilitators, especially in talking to them like people, giving them the time and space to work things out and skilfully moving things on when they needed to, without patronising the kids!"
Sarah (Parent)
"I particularly enjoyed the detail in the feedback, and I can easily see how this could become an important part of a home educators provision because of what you are focusing on, and how."

"My daughter's teacher mentioned that she heard my daughter using some really inclusive language and being a much better collaborator and listener than normal. I can't think of anything that would have caused a sudden change other than being a part of CoLab!"
Danny (Parent)
"What I like about the Colab program is the way the clues are hidden, the way the program was set up, and how each person is freely able to say their ideas!"
Eden (Student)
"The curriculum is phenomenal. I love how everyone had to come together to get the quest done. My son asked me if he would be joining again this week. He loved the freedom of being able to explore. "
